Jervaulx Abbey

Privately owned Jervaulx Abbey ruins are a haven for wild flowers.
Lovely tea-room with ice-cream and home made cakes. (other abbeys: Fountains, Rievaulx, Easby.)

Middleham Castle

A tower to climb with excellent views. Middleham castle - once home of Richard III.

Walks

By the river Ure at Jervaulx and the river Cover at Middleham. Half way between lies the Coverbridge Inn with friendly service and outside seating.
Climb Penhill or Roova Crags Map in the Barn of local walks from the village.

Forbidden Corner

An exciting grotto and follies with water features and a maze.

Thorpe Perrow Arboretum

Marvellous gardens, especially in spring and Autumn. Birds of prey. (other gardens: Constable Burton, Harlow Carr)
